Stupid Simple Tools Saw Calibrator on a SawStop PCS
I fell victim to Facebook marketing and bought a Stupid Simple Tools table saw calibration tool and used it to calibrate my SawStop PCS after 5 years of use.

Making Cremation Urns
Переглядів 48521 день тому
My proactive and forward thinking parents are making their end-of-life arrangements while they are still doing well so when the time does come everything will be ready. They asked me to make them cremation urns to hold their ashes until the eventual internment. I made these out of walnut and cherry on the sides, and the marquetry tops are lilies made with Koa, walnut, cherry and maple. The meta...

The Most Challenging Thing I’ve Ever Made: Barstools
Переглядів 1,4 тис.Місяць тому
I don't think there a lot of things more difficult to make than a chair, and what's a barstool (that has a seat back anyway) other than a tall chair? They need to be comfortable first and foremost, nice to look at, and both sturdy and safe. This is a build video of the first time I've ever attempted to make something quite like this. I mentioned that I'd provide links to the hardware that I use...

An Amazon Basics Hand Plane… How Bad Can it Be?
Переглядів 3 тис.3 місяці тому
I don't really know why, but I felt like buying the Amazon Basics #4 smoothing plane and see how bad it could be. The answer is not really all that bad, especially not for $30. Anyways, in this video, I'm testing it (it was bad) and then showing what I did to make it good. Here's the plane in question: www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adjustable-Universal-Precision/dp/B07V81CNJN/ref=sr_1_1?crid=J0F...
Engrave Brass with a Diode Laser?
Переглядів 2,7 тис.3 місяці тому
No, you can't engrave brass with a diode laser! But you can use it to transfer designs onto brass and then use acid to etch the designs into the metal, and that's what this video is all about. I did this with a Creality Falcon 2, 22 watt diode (link below) and ferric chloride (link also below). The Creality Falcon 2 Features: Multi-Scene Infinity Creation: Powerful 22W Laser Output 25000mm/min ...
Basic Canvas Engraving and Image Prep in Lightburn and Inkscape

I made this video for beginner laser engraving on canvas. There is a lot more about the software in this video than I've seen in a few others. I focus on tracing images in Lightburn and Inkscape, which are skills that can be used with any laser engraver. For this video I used a Creality Falcon 2, 22 watt. A Quick Modification to My Laser Enclosure
Переглядів 6324 місяці тому
I added a blackout panel to the clear, camera window on the to of my new laser enclosure. I noticed that the orange, welding plexiglass filtered the laser glare well, but the white paint and clear window reflected and allowed a lot of glare to come out. This was a really quick and easy modification.
Building a Laser Engraving Machine Enclosure

Can you control the depth of the cuts to cut mold cavities into aluminum for example?
Maybe in wood by trial and error, but never in aluminum. Diodes don’t touch aluminum. You need a fiber laser to do depth mapping in metal.
It's things like these I wonder if people with the means have people like yourself make for them. It's things like these that become or are artifacts.
thanks dude for the full explanation! im victoria from Argentina. Hugs
Great job brotha. Great video.
The original biesmeyer of which that fence is a copy, has adjustment screws for the fence squareness.
It’s weird that sawstop didn’t include that feature. I was actually pretty shocked when I started this and realized the fence was one piece.
On my SawStop the fence has adjustment knobs to square it, not necessary to move the actual rail attached to the saw. I like how easy it is to adjust the miter to the blade though, great design IMHO. I’ve had mine for 4 years and it’s still perfect.
Excellent work, dude! 😃 Thanks a bunch for all the tips! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
You could just sand off the blade marks
A saw blade out of alignment could be a safety issue.
Thank you ! Very helpful video.
List your hand saws, please.
I really enjoyed that. I would have preferred a walnut knob. There's a saying, "Black and brown is a fashion no-no."
What light do you have on your bandsaw, and is it an aftermarket or did it come with it? Thanks
It’s the jet one made for the saw. It’s an optional accessory that they sell.
@@catspawcustoms Thanks.
I have the same saw and the fence is almost worthless. I have been debating on what to get. Still not sure.
Very nice.
Working out the details for a project where I need to bend and laminate. Thanks for going through the trial and error and sharing!
good to see. I just bought it for Father's Day (THANKS KIDS!!)
both the green BOW and the Driftmaster iii
Congratulations for your amazing work.
I have bent hundreds of rings now for drum frames. Your set up is awesome and what would do the job is cutting the end pieces of the wood list in such a way so it overlaps after being bent, creating a seamless joint. After you glued it you got a perfect, smooth circle and you can bend another ring just around it.
Nice work but damn dude what the hell is wrong with your thinking, pushing boards through a table saw with your bare hands by the blade. That has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve seen on watching DIY projects
Compare spear and jackson csp4 vs amazon basics no4
We live and learn, luckily the laser helped speed the process. - Chris
Fantastic work, man! Really well done! 😃 But if you disassemble a printer (paper printer, not 3d printer) you'd have it almost done. You'd just need a PWM controller. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks for the video, the reset following a lens clean caught me out as well 🙂
What did you use for the power supply for the LED’s
I'm trying to make abox for a friend and wanted more flair than just miters, but have been struggling cutting this joint. This video is extremely helpful and convincing to me to just be patient and do it step by step. Also you clearly had fun with the stop motion part and I love it :D
Wow, this is SO helpful and well done. Thank you for making this video!!!
Thanks!
For the price these things cost they should come with the software shouldn't cost anyone anything to use it.
Is that $30 a month to use the software or just a one time $30 dollar fee.
I think it’s annual. Well worth it.
Un excelente trabajo y una idea genial para realizarla, gracias x el aporte
So glad Reddit led me here!
The segmented wood turner LAUGHS OUT LOUD.
This is fricken awesome!
How can you get the longer ray5 10watt to cut through 1/8 plywood one pass
Turn up power and turn down speed. It should do it pretty well, but adding an air assist will make it much cleaner.
Whatever, McGyver...(jealous Dane here...this guy can build helicopter from a pine cone and a swiss army knife). Holy feck it's cool! Your workshop is pretty well-equipped. Where I live, a days electricity in that shop would make the meter run like the wheel on a motorbike and eventually I'd have to sell my family...
Very practical, efficient and beautiful.
That was fun to watch. You're really selling that laser - I might have to get one.
Lots of very useful information there, dude! Thanks a bunch! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Would the camera work through orange acrylic?
Honestly no idea. I rarely use the camera.
awesome work sir, it was very informative for me
you just need to make your router jig so it goes on top of the lathe!
I thought the wood filler was a great accent. The flowers really pop
Love the follow-up on the jigs. I had commented on the first one that you had made great use of jigs, and it's nice to see your thought process. May have to get myself a laser. - Chris
Thanks!
Great project. Why not use the laser to create the recess? It’s just a deep engrave.
Ultimately the router and template was a lot faster. And I have a rotatory, but not one big enough for the urns.
"when a person dies he only appears to die. He is still very much alive in the past, so it is very silly for people to cry at his funeral. All moments, past, present and future, always have existed, always will exist." and so it goes.
The song choice 😂
One small safety consideration- you probably did it, but didn't mention it- wear glasses when you wash the basins and stuff out. That's the #1 way to get acid in your unprotected eyes. You're finished with the job, take off glasses, turn on the hose and it blasts the acid and it rebounds into your face. It's the stupid steps like that where people make mistakes.
Nicely done - Video and Urn.
Thanks!
Beautifully crafted
Thanks!
Great use of jigs on this. A little effort up front makes it so much easier and quicker with great results. - Chris
Thanks!
Wonderful urns, man! Really fantastic work! 😃 I hope the owners don't need it for a long time! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks!
If you're going to all the effort of blind box joints, then why not blind dovetails so you would have some mechanical strength for the same effort. Am I missing something? Oh, I do love watching your work.
